Cello size guide
How to measure a cello:
If you are trying the cello, sit at the end of a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Tilt the cello at a 45-degree angle to your body. Extend the end pin so the top of the cello body is in the center of the chest. The C-pin should be slightly behind the left ear. Make sure you can easily reach both ends of the fretboard. If you don't have a cello yet, see this chart for approximate sizes by age and height.

Bass measurements:
Usually the size of a bass is measured primarily by the length of the body. This can be measured using a tape measure from the top of the headstock to the end of the bottom of the instrument.
